Dubai: The UAE’s ‘National Programme for Coders’ and Facebook will organise ‘Facebook AI [Artificial Intelligence] Camp’, available for the first time in the region, from August 15 to 26 to equip students with a variety of digital skills and train them on programming languages.

The initiative falls in line with national efforts to empower programmers and involve them in the UAE’s digital transformation. It follows the launch of the National Programme for Coders under the directive of His Highness Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Training for selected students
The Facebook AI Camp will provide university students passionate about AI the opportunity to equip themselves with skills and insights for an AI-driven future, strengthening the UAE’s leading position in the field of programming. The camp will train 50 selected university students on topics that are at the core of AI, from the fundamentals to advanced state-of-the-art technology. The camp is open to students in their last year of university, in AI-relevant fields and with a background in Python and maths. Students can apply to participate in the camp via a dedicated website.
